Mayan (Mah - Yuhn)
Noun -
1. A culture and former empire found within what is now modern day Central America and the South of Mexico.
2. A language spoken by tribes in the South of Mexico and Central America.
1. Mayan Mask that looks menacing, but also authoritative. It's green and has several colorful designs.
2. Black skull, which my brother has a similar looking tattoo. It's also reminiscent of the day of the dead.
3. Miniature temple that's grey. It has an image of a person and two animals.
4. Keychain with fish and symbols on it. It looks like the sort of artwork that may have been then a long time ago.
5. Keychain og a Mayan Temple. It looks like a typical item that a tourist would get traveling to Merida, Yucatan.
6. Book with Mayan short stories. It's something my Step- dad brought me from Mexico because I mentioned that I read some Mayan writing that were pretty interesting.
7. Photo with a Mayan Temple, which was taken by either my brother of stepdad. It looks cool.
8. Shot glass with a Mayan Temple. It's green and has a rope wrapped around it, which makes it look more like it's specifically Latin American.
9. 2nd shot of a Mayan Temple. This one's clear and the image is painted in white, and looks more like a typical shot glass.
10. Half a vase with a rope that meant to hang it. If it breaks my mom will kill me. It also has a house, trees, and pretty much the image of a Mexican town.

With this collection on Mayan-themed objects, what do you want to say? Is it a commentary on an empire that no longer exists? It is an investigation into representation of the culture in the popular media in United States? I think you need to establish a goal in your piece.
