Pain

pain n. 1. suffering 2. unpleasantness felt by an individual in either the body or mind 3. harm qualified either as physical or mental; different levels and degrees of intensity

10 stories:
collection of "pain" representing a communal pain we all go through; we all have our own pains and we all experience different kinds of pain, yet we are brought together through our different stories. The collection will include mostly pictures and may include some text such as news articles.
1. bruises: physical pain; every where, caused my direct contact/force; pictures
2. scars: physical pain; segment/interview/story of an example of a scar; how did it happen? pictures with interview text
3. hunger pain: physical pain; result of lack of food
4. small pain that heals and is gone (paper cuts): physical pain but is less painful and often heals quickly and goes away/disappears
5. love pain: emotional; pain felt from being "in love"
6. lost pain (direct): emotional; losing a loved one or someone close to you
7. lost pain (indirect): emotional; losing a significant figure whom you do not know personally
8. sympathetic pain: emotional; pain felt when seeing another in pain
9. severe pain: physical; the result of some drastic event
10. ?? -- ?? i need one more ... suggestions?

  1. This might be a project in which you investigate the idea of pain both in terms of visual language and text. Like you have written, there are many kinds of "pain" that exists. The key for your work is to bring together in a coherent manner the pains you want to represent.
