Body Double Assignment
My idea for the body double assignment is to make a shoe. I have always wanted to make one. It will be a size 10 and it will be a customized jordan shoe. It will have my name and basketball number on it as well as some designs that I have sketched to go along with it. I probably will have to sculpt it so I wont be able to wear it. My idea is for it to serve another purpose other than fitting my foot. Maybe it will hold a variety of different things or maybe can be a cup. I am not too sure about the materials I will use but that it the general idea of what I had in mind.
Body Double Assignment
For this project, the first thing I thought of making was a microphone! Cuz I like singing! Although I would not be able to make an actual working microphone that projects your voice. Therefore, this would be more of the kind that you would use to sing along to your fav songs and go crazy in your room haha. I was thinking of using wire and some styrofoam and whatever else I could find. Maybe even jazz it up a bit with some stick-on decroations of sorts.
If I don't do this, the other idea I had was a coffee mug because I love coffee and cool mugs. This seems a lot harder to me though, considering I've never attempted to actually construct something before, that can fully function. And I don't know what to use that could hold hot liquid...I'd have to look more into it.

Body Double Idea
For my body double I was thinking of creating either a mini-me that displays everything I am (how I think I portray myself to others) or creating something that represents me. The mini-me would be like a model of myself; a collage of all the things that are important to me in my life. I would create the model out of clay and use pieces of material (probably cloth) to decorate and give my mini-me character. If I were to create something that represents me, I was thinking something more along the lines of a butterfly in which I would construct out of clay, wire, and mesh materials for the wings. The wings would be able to move as would a real butterfly.
Body Double Assignment
For this assignment, I'm thinking of making a large sized umbrella. It would be made of cardboard and wire and pretty much held together by some sturdy glue or tape. I'm not totally sure how I'm going to go about doing this, but the idea of making a huge umbrella is really appealing to me for some reason. I am pretty sure it will be fully functional if I make it sturdy enough and maybe it'll be big enough to fit a lot of people under it. Heh heh. Anyway, I hope this works out...

Body Double
For my body double assignment I was thinking about making a zombie arm back scratcher for all those zombie lovers with itchy backs! The arm would be made of intertwined metal wire, newspaper, and masking tape. Over that I would paper mache the arm. I would then paint the paper mache to look like a zombie by making the skin a gray/blue tint ala Tom Savini's work in George Romero's Dawn of the Dead. The arm would have a bit of exposed wire to appear almost as if the arm has fallen off a zombie and its zombie skeleton is exposed. It would also have a handle coming out of the arm for a better grip. But all this is a tentative idea. I could also just make a real zombie out of the same materials, but I have no idea how it would "work." Either way you can't go wrong with zombiessss. :)

Body Double Double Body
I'm planning on doing a Body Double that is about the indigenous body, the native body, the colonized body, the assimilated body, the body that is copied, the body that is territorialized, the body that is erased, the body that is elided, the body that is made foreign from itself, the body in place of itself. I'd like to make it as a series of dolls, preferably in wax or some form of substance that is similar to flesh but artificial, although I haven't worked in wax before, so whatever I can come up with, it will be something new for me, both the material and using the idea of duplication in my work, both duplication as form and as theme, by duplication I also mean reduplication.
