With the time allotted to finish, I didn't think that I would have enough time to finish. Now that I know it can be a duplicate of almost anything I have my grand idea!
I would like to create boots! I am maybe thinking of copying the design of a pair of boots I already own, or making an entirely new pair of the idea boots I would like to wear. As for the presentation, in class when we are all finished with our works of art, I would demonstrate the use by simply wearing the pair of woman made boots.
Now what to make the boots out of... When we did body doubles in Three D Design class we used postage tape to surround our whole bodies and slowly cut them away. But they still lacked in minute details. But as of now that is my only idea of how to get this project started.
I hope this meets the criteria of our first blog entry!

Hi Laura,
ReplyDeletePacking-Tape Boots is a great idea! You are on the right track. I challenge you to create your boots with giant heels and big platforms, so that when you put on your boots in class, you are super-tall. Making big boots may involve taping other materials into the Packing-tape boots. Try cardboard, paper, wood, and plastic to see what works best. ... The boots could also come up very high on your legs...
Also, what do you want your boots to look like? Do you want to cover your tape boots with fabric, paint, photographs, or paper?
Finally, how will you walk around the room for your in-class demonstration? Will there be music playing. Will you be talking? What will you say? ...
Please consider these questions and let me know if you have any thoughts. Have fun and good luck.

One more thing, you might want to search some of these artists: George Segal, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Gober, Louise Bourgeois... for inspiration...
