Hello!
For my body double project, I will be making earmuffs. Not the electric earmuffs, but the traditional winter ear-warmers. They should be functional, but I don't think anyone in this world would be able to fit them on their head. I'm still unsure about the materials or where to find the tools to make them, but all I know is that I will need something fluffy and soft for the ear-section. If I cannot find any better materials, I will use wires and cardboard for the headset. The earmuffs will be arm length and possibly foldable. Hopefully, this will be achievable!

Fluffy and soft stuff is everywhere! Perhaps, take a look at this artist for inspiration: http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/artists/jon_pylypchuk.htm
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your ear muffs... or, is the piece developing in a different direction now?
After realizing we can present the project with an animal aspect, I decided to do something completely different. I want to incorporate an animal in my sculpture, since we humans ourselves are mammals too. Instead of earmuffs, I am making glasses.
ReplyDeleteAn owl will be wearing the glasses since owls are known for their huge eyes. I want the glasses to have mirrors instead of lenses so viewers can look at themselves while looking at the sculpture. The reason I want to do that is because I want people to see the illusions of life. Mirrors are commonly used in illusions. And by adding an image of a clock(representing time) on to the owl in someway, I want people to use their eyes, look through the mirror glasses, and wonder about this question: Is time an illusion?
Cool! ... a real owl? What kind of owl?
